Show in Kingston

We're playing October 21st in Kingston. I think the Radical Dudez might be playing that night. But not with us. Probably. At another show. I know, that's bad. We're trying to fix it, but either way, we'll be in Kingston on the 21st. It will be more fun than Jack Leyton on a two-seater. Guaranteed.

BLUE STILL!

In mind-shattering breaking news, my 1988 Toyota Corolla wagon has just passed its emissions test. Anyone who has driven, been in, or just looked at it, appreciates that this is a true miracle. Blue Steel and I have been through our fair share of start-ups and breakdowns; its been my car, my locker, and my bed -but most of all, its been my friend.

Now I just need to get a new sideview mirror since some well-meaning individual decided they needed to test out their new baseball bat. It may have actually been a golf club. Or just a solid waist-high kick.

Oh, and it probably shouldn't constantly burn oil. And leaking antifreeze is not a particularly promising sign.

But the point is, I still have a car that works most of the time. Sort of.

Can I watch CSI at your house?

...please?

Wee Britain

So it looks like we're gonna play a show in Kingston. It would be the Oct. 21/22 weekend, butI don't know whether it will be the Friday or the Saturday. Friday is probably better, but it's also the Bloodhound Gang show in Toronto. They put on a ..."classy" show, but their new album isn't as amazing as I would like it to be.

Either way, we'll bring some cd's with our junk on it and sell them fairly cheap. I think fallujah, pimps, and robbie alomar should be downloadable already. As you can tell, it's low quality-what did you expect? Bedouin Soundclash? I bet they practice. And write songs.

Speaking of which, does anyone know how I can save phone messages on my Bell cellhone so that they aren't deleted after a certain number of days? Because I have Dave singing Bedouin Soundclash interpretations during homecoming, and I'd really like to add them to the CD. Then we'll throw it an old recording or two, and some live stuff, with the hopes of further increasing quantity over quality. But I really DON'T know how to keep these on my phone. Help.

In other news Chris has a place to live. I don't plan on EVER visiting him there, but it's got a roof and is slightly safer than sleeping ont he streets. Slightly. He also went to class today. Really.

for british eyes only

maybe not as "tight" an episode as usual, but it was still pretty hilarious. arrested development is the only show on tv that can successfully have 4 simultaneous chicken inspired dances. inspiring.

oh, we finished recording, it's nothing special. go to purevolume, or www.benlovesmusic.com , or something.

steve holt doesn't like magic.

he loves it.

Gonna make you come tonight- over to my house!

HOMECOMING. It's this weekend. Dave and I are gonna meet up with Provan in Kingston and finish up our recording this Sunday. Is planning to record and mix on the craziest weekend of the year a good idea? Well considering we don't remember half of our shows, I'd say yes.

ALSO, feel free to check out our new PUREVOLUME site. It's just a fancier page to house our mp3's. The first two songs were recorded last weekend. I'll upload more as soon as the weekend is over.

Oh the memories. This picture is from what is known as the "peasant" era. Beer out of cups... ridiculous.

EVE HOLT!

Arrested Development is back. It was great. Jim Cramer.....Mad Money. For the first time in Peterborough I have a reason to live.

PS http://imoscar.com

kiss me

We recorded some stuff this weekend. There was a platinum Sixpence None the Richer record on the wall. You can listen to one of the unfinished songs on soundclick if you want. We also have a song about Cambodiana. Anyway, Arrested Development starts up again tomorrow so I'm gonna to go to bed and dream about it. Ciao mein.

Ponytails & Cocktails - Two things that will always rock

We're gonna record or something this weekend. I don't know what, where, or how much. But apparently that is the plan.

On a related note, someone at head office thinks my name is Duane. I get newsletters and memos to "Duane Burpee". They pay me under Derek, so I figure "Hey, free alter ego, why complain?"

Chris found a house. Dave found a recording studio. And I found Jesus. More accurately, my Jesus Jones cd. Right here. Right now.

PS Blue Steel no longer looks like that. Thanks to some go-getters in the Kingston community, there is no longer a driver's sideview mirror. Everyday is my birthday. I hope you're reading this, Xzibit.

"Maybe she's just a lazy whore. That happens, right? They can't all have hearts of gold and good work ethics"

Provan may not have a place to live yet, but as soon as he does you can expect to see a lot of our side project: Down By The Bay. We do mostly traditional audience-participation numbers.

But seriously, Provan is homeless.
