Lance Bass is GAY?!?

Thanks very much to everyone who showed up at Lee's Palace last Friday. The turnout was better than expected. Apparently some people didn't get in? I'm not really sure why, but I'm guessing it had something to do with the pirate costume party taking place on the second floor. Sorry.
For everyone that made it in, thanks for drinking your faces off and pretending to be amused by our rusty slander. The soundguy was less than impressed with us ("What do you mean you don't know what instruments the third guy in the band will be playing?") so we were hesitant to explain to him that we couldn't hear anything on stage. Hopefully you could at least all hear Dave's literal Bible interpretations. It kind of sucked playing last because we didn't really get to hang out with everyone as much, and honestly, it's hard to follow a falsetto rendition of Love Hurts. To be frank, the highlight of my weekend was watching A-Rod strike out 4 times on Saturday while heckling him furiously, despite sitting behind a 10 year old boy in an A-Rod jersey.

We're playing anothershow August 11 @ O'Grady's . Unlike this past show, it will probably be a lot less "Queen's Alumni Mixer", and much more"Show were we open for bands who are not amused with our antics, so instead of getting our act together, we play new, experimental junk". Or maybe we'll just play Barnone 8 times. Either way.

Anyway, thanks again to everyone who came out on Friday. In the coming weeks we'll hopefully have a BIG(ish) announcement regarding another show in a city we used to live in.

Oh, and yes, that is our song playing as background music in the new West 49 commercial. The song is the original (aka GOOD) version of Barnone from our first CD and it's playing on both MuchMusic and MTV Canada. I think there's a chicken in it or something. It just goes to show: We haven't written a good song since high school.

Shea Hillenbrand, Lebanon...Too Soon?

With the show on Friday, I'm having a hard time remembering what we can and can't do.
Also, any ideas on what GDP could be an acronym for? It would be great if it had something to do with either violence, substance abuse, or masculine qualities.

And for those of you wondering, no I can't decide which summer concert I enjoyed the most: Slayer, GWAR, or Ashlee Simpson. While Ashlee Simpson's new nose was awesome, GWAR shot blood and various other fluids onto the crowd with their prosthetics so... it's hard to say.

These are the Daves I know

FYI: The show next Friday will start around 9:30 PM. The first dude up is some dude who I don't know anything about, but his name might be available here: www.leespalace.com It should be noted that the aforementioned website is for the location at which the event will be held, Lee's Palace. It should also be noted that it is definitely not a shoe store. The next band will be Fat Robot, followed by the Radical Dudez, followed finally by us. If anyone actually stays after the Dudez play, that is. At very least, this should allow you all to get wicked stupid before we go on. Remember, it's not in a shoe store. I can't stress this enough. For further information, see Provan's post below.

PS Dave gets back from his international life adventure today. Thanks to him, hundreds of Costa Ricans now use the words "pritty" and "buisness" in their daily writing.

Welcome to Etobicoke, Home of Coors Light

"What the Coors Light Brewery lacks in mountain credentials it certainly gains in urban density"
I've never been more amused by a website devoted to slandering my hometown than I was when I saw this. The google map descriptions are pretty accurate, as are the airplane sounds. It's also sort of funny because Labatt used to have a brewery off of the 401 in Etobicoke as well... until they recently laid everyone off. The worst part is that despite these coinciding acts of local douchebaggery, I'd still choose Labatt over Molson without hesitation.

Oh, I saw Slayer last night. Let me tell you: When it comes to their music, "those who like it, like it a lot"... Often in alarmingly racist and violent ways. But usually just in drunken, threatening and profanity-laced ways. And also they headbang.
